Default MEFI harness question

I am thinking about hooking up a MEFI computer to a multi-point fuel injection system on a regular small block Chevy. Are there standard wiring harnesses for this? For some reason I can't find any. This would be for a repower so hooking up to existing parts would not be an issue.

Thanks,
Eric

GM sells a mefi 4 computer w/harness including a 02 sensor for about 600$,you wouldn't use the 02 sensor on a boat but it's a pretty good deal,Smitty

12499116, That's the part number for the harness and computer. They can both be ordered seperately. If you've got a good GM dealer locally you should be able to pick it up for a little under $600 like Smitty said.. If that doesn't work out there are a few companies that make harnesses - Marine Power, Flagship, Kodiak.. etc. Let me know if I can be of any help.. Alex

Just by the whole works from MSD. It even comes with software to program it!
You can also buy the harness from them as well.

And yes, use the 02 sensor. Otherwise put a carburetor on it!

Thanks for the information guys.

Another question. Do you use the MEFI computer to control the ignition timing curves? Does using the MEFI allow you to run a simpler distributor/ignition box or do you still end using the distributors with weights and pickups or the Crane box that handles the timing curves?

Mefi4 is a full engine management system. So yes it will control the spark advance as well as provide spark knock control.
It also has the capability of operating auxiliary components.

If you buy one from GM make sure it's "unlocked" so you can make changes to the calibration if so desired.
