Default Oil leak-remote set up.

I've got a BBC witha remote oil filter. After having the engine rebuilt, I've had a leak where the remote fitting is (where the oil filter use to be). What normally goes bad-the fitting the O-ring or a gasket?? It's very hard to tell exactly where it is leaking due to it being in the bilge. Should I replace the whole fitting? What is the best way to solve this? New Fitting?? Thanks in advance!

The center bolt/ fitting may be loose. I've forgot to tighten them before.

is it a gen IV or V/VI the bolts on some of the gen IV need copper washers to seal them (2) and there is a large O-ring seal on the adapter also, gen V/VI also have a O-ring seal as well, and not the same as the filter...Rob

It's a Gen IV. Thanks for your responses!

I agree with kenyo,,,, clean it up then get down there and keep an eye on it idling if you can,,,, may just be a loose fitting, or the center adapter fitting that holds it to the block

mine leaked after my rebuild, it is probably the seal to the block, I bought 2 oil filters with the same size rubber gaskets (took them off the filters) and replaced them....fixed the leak
