You will know it when you ride in a boat that does it, it rocks back and forth

A way to solve it, I don't know slow down. Maybe trim tabs. Best solution buy another boat.

Years ago(many years) I built up my first V8 in a boat that had no business going faster and it was scary to say the least.

Keep It Up Right Its More Fun

what I do once it starts you have to move the steering wheel both ways until you hit a rythm that your arm is moving a lot and the boat is even, to help cure that you need a FULL HYD STEERING TWIN PISTONS. I had the add on steering it did zip over 80, my arm would lock up at the end of a trip if I had the boat speeding at wfo. so I hope this year my full steering will cure it or slow it down since I plan on running a 100 plus from mid 80s. if your out cruising upper 60s and it happens from a wake just chop the throttle and it should stop. on stock steering what happens is the cable has play or outside the gimbal bolt is worn. hope this helps. Bet I've posted about this 25 times in the past few years LOL

After I dropped in the ZZ502/502 my 23 Nova would begin to chine walk at about early to mid 60's. By the time I got to late 60's or 70ish on the GPS, it would be down right scarey!! I contacted Throttle Up and discussed it with Matt & Julie. Long story short, they labbed/tweeked my Mirage 25P prop, and NO more chine walk. None... zip.... nada.

Last summer after a little engine work, I had the Humble Little Nova a little over 80 on GPS spinning a bone stock Mirage 27P. And with that prop, there is no walk... go figure

Every hull and prop is different. Try talking to Throttle Up, they may be able to help you out. Best of luck!!

The best way to eliminate it ,,is to drive thru it,,,,,,,full throttle and tabs level ,maybe a tick down and do not steer against it try to steer withit untill it setles down,,,now u are on the tip of the V and the air is flowing along each side of the chine ,(outer edges of the hull) !!!!!!!

Takes Ball$ to do so but once done no problemo,if the boat has enuff power to do it,,,,not easy and u can flip the boat if u don't watch it.

a. What is chinewalk?

Its the rocking of the boat from side to side-like a cradle rocks typically getting worse as speeds increase.

b. How is this to be solved or reduced

Money

All kidding aside, it could be as expensive as a new boat, to a prop, to tabs, or bottom end job, hydraulic steering etc.

The guys answering so far have been giving good advice.
