I have the blue boxes on my boat 5 years now no problems.

well my opinion on them is what I told one of their reps at the race track one day when he was looking at my car and asked why I was not running there stuff even though I had their decal on the car ?? told him we needed 3....one on the car, one in the trailer as a spare, one back with you guys getting repaired !!! and it's only gotten worse since then !!! 1st off they are not going to make your boat any faster, may idle a bit better..maybe..the only good thing if it is a L with a rev limiter..but they are available as a stand alone unit if you need it. Some people have good luch with them but there are a lot that just fail whenver they feel like it !!! hence my term for them MSD...may soon die....Rob

mine was mounted with the rubber isolator studs,still didn,t last long for me.i went to the blue box.

Some guys like to mount them on the motor where I not sure if the isolators would be enough.

Thanks for the link,my red msd 6 box lasted 8 years in the boat until it got thumped hard on the concrete at the end of a dyno session,hence the beginning of my blue marine box nightmare. I'm going to send it in to get fixed now,Smitty
