Not to Hi-jack this thread, but the bearing that you are talking about is it serviceable without pulling the tranny? I thought I heard people replacing the gimble bearing on a TRS boat, this must be the bearing they are replacing???
I thought I read where you have to cut something out to access this.

If the TRS application is fitted with a Brog Warner (Velvet Drive) tranny, the tailstock bearing is replaceable through the bellows. (held in w/snap ring)
If fitted with the MercTrans, the motor/trans must be pulled to replace the bearing. Although I have replaced it by removing the gimbal housing but I'll never do that again, -huge can o worms...
