The pilot typically controls the idle circuit and just off idle. If the engine doesn't respond to the neddle changes, check your ignition timing again. The info provided about the needle is correct and should help your transistion, if it doesn't verify your timing.

I had to read your post twice but FMF told you to change pilot to 30, then I would do that first with needle centered, and then adjuct clip position. Pilot is amount of fuel and needle taper dictates how much and how quick. DON'T RUN LEAN Properly jetted midrange builds alot of tork. Good luck

Raising the Needles WORKED!!! It still backfired slightly until i fine tuned the fuel/air mix....Then it ran much better!! FMF also said to run without the airbox lid snorkel...so instead of the 1-1/2 inch round opening for the airflow, you have an oval 4 x 1 inch opening that flows much more air. This kept me a bit lean...so i ended up (don't laugh) duck taping half of the airflow opening to make it 2 x 1 inch. This cut off some airflow and richened me up! I know it's probably not right, but it's running great, so i'm leaving the duck tape...i may just get a black marker and color the tape to make it match the airbox
Thanks for all your help
