Question Under Hatch Mirror,What backing do I need?

I am trying to put the plastic mirrors on the bottom of my hatch, what backing would work to glue it to?

Also the mirror will be curved, and some glues will pop loose makeing it fit the curved hatch, unless I simulate the bend while gluing it.

Hustler recommends starboard with contact cement and let it get tacky and stick the two together.

I also was told use a plastic laminate adhesive?

Any experience or suggestions appreciated.

I always wondered that. I was going to do mine at one time but couldnt come up with a good solution. I even thought of that heavy duty velcro tape like that comes with your speedpass.
