Exclamation Low seawater pump PSI?

Mer 350 MAG MPI Tow sport package
seawater pump 1.69-1.98 psi w/ brand new pump installed.
could this be from a bad w/p hsg? or just a low pressure system? Tige boat yr is 03 and motor is hooked to a v-drive with a water pickup on the under side of the boat.

Is that at idle or what rpm do you get that reading? Normaly it will read any where from .3 up to 2.0 psi depends on idle speed and how much water pressure you are pushing thru the system while on the garden hose, If you rev it up it needs to go up around 17.5 or so psi while on the lake, But make sure it goes up on the hose as well to 5+psi while reving. And do not put yours in gear while on the hose.

Run the boat in the water to find out actual water pressures.

Trying to duplicate water psi readings running on the hose does not work.
