if you call the custom carb builders they will make it CG legal for you
or you can intsall the J tubes yourself that is very simple to do

I forgot about C&S they are right up there also Gordon is great to deal with

I would not waste my money on a brand new Barry Grant,

if you found one used for a decent price thats a different story

call some of the custom carb builders you will not be dissapointed their stuff will 99.9% of the time make max power directly the way they send it to you,

CSU, C&S, and Braswell are my personal favorites, Ive used all 3 of them with great results,

Pro Systems is hit or miss sometimes, the last carb they did for a friend of mine turned out to be a flop,
it was no where near the right setup and after going back and forth with Patrick we ended up selling the carb and getting one from CSU that was dead on when it showed up

It takes alittle more than J vents to make a carb USCG approved. Throttle shafts and a U.L. Certification, thats why it's alittle more in cost.
I was just wondering; when you ordered the carb.from Pro Systems, did you give the head flow #, cam specs and so on? What was wrong with the carb?

Yeah we gave Patrick all the flow numbers, cam specs, and complete build sheet on the motor
the carb kept dying on its face above 6500 rpms on the dyno so we spend a whole day playing with timing and jetting,
when we got it to make good power it wouldnt hold an idle

we took it off ordered a CSU went back to the dyno and made almost 35 more hp with the CSU piece right out of the box, pulled hard through the rpms and idled great

I also had another small carb from Pro Systems on a 306 inch street motor that I could not get to idle no matter what
we did to it

I honestly prefer Kevin as CSU he did a blow thru carb for my 434 inch sbf twin turbo motor made over 1900 hp on the dyno right out of the box
