if your going to buy it new
you absolutely have to take it apart and clean it out BG is known for having crap in their carbs when they are brand new
I used to work for a place that was a BG dealer and about 90% of them came back with problems
once we cleaned them out took them apart
they worked great,
there are better options out there
but they are decent carbs,
if your going to spend money and get a new carb try and get a custom carb from CSU, Braswell, or Pro Systems, or another reputable carb builder

I personally like CSU the best Kevin builds an awesome carb

As cbellamore said. I myself run them but did pull them out of the box and disassemble. But I do that with all parts b-4 installing them, habit. They tune very simulair to holleys. Once setup they have proven to be a very good carb. Customer service wise on the tech support side they suck. Have called them in the past and they talk down to you like your some kind of idiot. I buy them from R&D Racing, they always have a deal that no one can beat. My 2 cents....

Best bolt on carb Ive ever bought in my life. Very high quality product.

Got the one with the red inserts.

Ive got it in a 500 HP 406 small block way crisper than my holley 750

5500-6K Engle ep20/22 flat tappett,
