I scrambled one of my engines and I am going to have to install new pistons and rods. I am going to install new speedpro pistons and manley billet rods.
I know this set up should be balanced, but budget is getting tight and I am planning on 572 in the next couple of years.
Is it stupid to concerned put this engine back together with out balancing the rotating assembly?
Thanks

Cig,
Have your machine shop weigh the old parts and the new ones. If by some miracle both ends of the rods and the piston and pin weigh within a few grams of your old parts, you should be ok. Otherwise you need to rebalance the crankshaft to match the weights of the new parts.
