It's not me that was asking about the what style carb it should be, We are waiting to see if (cocktails) will ever come back and give us an update to see who the winner is
With out a picture or serial number it would be just a guess because some where in that time frame MerCruiser went from using this style carb, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...esc=CARBURETOR
Over to a weber style like this, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...OR+%28WEBER%29
And that information can be found here. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selec....asp?type_id=8

My guess would be a weber, it looks very similar to the carter & edelbrock. Most likley not a Q Jet but who knows with Merc. My stock 1994 330 BBC came with the Weber, sold the carb a long time ago.

WOW, WHAT A GREAT RESPONSE.!!! tHAT'S WHY i LOVE OSO.
Been out of town for a few days, I will get a picture taken today and post on so the winner will be determined. Now I'm more confused. The only one that may be out is the 500 Hp carb since these motore were the original 502 390hp.
Thanks for all the replies.

We need the original engine serial numbers as well. That will tell us what was originally on there.
