I need to replace one of the hoses that goes from the power steering reservoir to the cooler. So i'm going to dump most of the fluid. Anything special that i need to put back in, or will regular powersteering fluid due? I do have marine machine external rams, but not the inside hydro yet.............
Thanks.
Thanks.

Most use standard Dexron ATF, but there are some specific power steering fluids that work too. If you go with a true power steering fluid, make sure it is compatible with ATF (some synthetics are not).
While changing the hose and before running, do "not" turn the wheel. If you just fill and run it until the fluid shows no bubbles in the reservoir, you shouldn't get any air in the rest of the system. Keep the reservoir full enough to avoid sucking any air into the pump and foaming the oil.

I took another look at what as in there. It is mostly clear with a blue hue to it. So definately not an atf. I wouldn't be opposed to putting in some however. I would probably use mobil syn atf as I already have some from my vehicles.
