How much HP do you guys think

I would recommend baseline pulls with the 4150, however not miss the opportunity to test the 4500’s against that baseline. In my experience, the majority of this displacement area/stroke always makes more power with carburetors of greater capability than the calculated need shows. Keep your eye on the fuel curve (BSFC) numbers and the torque. If the TQ figure shows good specific output @ peak and begins to flatline in the high 5XXX and low 6XXX that is an indicator of decaying plenum pressure and increasing pumping losses. Vacuum is an indicator but you will need to watch SCFM and fuel closely.

Craig M (Wette Vette) has a very similar build to yours
(598/10.7 SCR/
vacuum pump/
Dart 355 and TR ported by Darin Morgan
camshaft similar to yours (pk power ~ 6500)
running in the upper 8XX HP range.
He has (2) 1050 Nickersons and I would consider that to be the absolute minimum for this application.

What did Tom think? I had been tracing some valvetrain issues myself on my 496's. Did your valve springs come from Bob also? Also what are you using for pushrods? I called Jim at 6:30 this morning. He was anticipating you getting a carb spacer to try. I am sure you'll achieve your goal. I'll bet your happy for the first session regardless. It can just be time consuming sometimes chasing that extra power that your certain is there. BUT WELL WORTH IT...

If you're looking to try a carb spacer of sorts I have a couple of NEW Super Suckers (or whatever you call them) for sale still in the box if you want to try them. I only live about 25-30 minutes away from Tom.
