My buddy put a 6500 Mermaid in his 35' Cafe and it works great. I put one in my 32 with zero issues too. We both have lifts and run them with the boats out of the water.

nope, pull from the lake. We threaded our inlet thru hull and screw a hose to it and drop it in the water. I use the dock side water to prime the system, then all is good. Just don't forget to remove the pick up hose before lowereing the lift back down.
