ok here wt i got single hyr. steering 718 hp 136 drive rwith a 23mirage prop doing 80.6 mph at 5600rpm . still testing . chine walk none take your boat on plane set the drive then go full throttle.once top speed then ajust outdrive . try this and see if it help you out . good luck and one other thing when you put your trim tabs on? watch you dont put them to low i install longer ones . they were to low i trim my drive up the tabs held the boat from going up so i had to cut the down a little

I have 2. running a 1.50 bravo 1... 24p bravo 1 labbed by mercury racing. 55-5600rpms. (New Livorsi gauges) runs solid 70's best is 72 with the 4 blade. also have some bullchit labbed mirage plus 23 can run about 5400. think she is over cupped. but i have got 75 out of her.
I have been playing the prop game for awhile. i think my next attempt will be a stock mirege plus 23. my best rpm range will be in the 55-5700 rpm range.

Remember, if you're trying to tame or cure chine walk, dropping the tabs a bit will do that - but the extra drag will actually cost you a few MPH. Using the wheel to tame it will not cost you any speed, but you'd better have hydraulic steering to eliminate any slop. It will also dramatically reduce wear and tear on your steering and drive - not to mention making for a much safer ride.
Laster has a 24' Progression here (that I've driven) with 280 K-Planes on it and they work great. Mounted correctly, they will actually make your boat perform as if the hull were much longer. Mounted incorrectly, you'll loose speed.
Where you need to mount them (side to side) depends on how much of your hull (at the transom) is normally in the water. Mine are mounted over the first set of lifting strakes. If you look at pictures of my boat at speed below though, they're not even close to contatcting the water. (That's the way I wanted it.) The 22' Progression that was on the cover of Powerboat in 1992 had them mounted at the chines - and they proved basically useless. So, before you mount them, do some research!

I had this thread in the baja section and speed girl was nice enough to move it for me. i was hoping that i could get a little more input of where they should be located for all around performance.
