Default Motor Squeal

I have 6.2's and my port engine seems to be squealing a bit...

What are the likely culprits? Belt, bearings...

We just changed the water impellar on that engine...I am thinking the belt wasnt set to tension tight enough. Wasnt making the noise before the install...Any suggestions.

I have the same problem. I put the factory belt on and it began to squeal. Then I changed the belt to a new one, it began to squeal on my second outing. I have changed to a Gates belt and all is good now, but we'll see how it goes in a week or two.......

Take a hose and put it up to your ear, run the hose around and try to pin point the squeel. Go from there.

we tightened the belt...stilll squealing.

we are gonna replace the belt and see if that helps...the belt looks a bit worn.

if a new belt doesnt work, whats next?

Or as simple as the belt was worn a little and went back on turning the opposite direction.

Check the idler pulleys. Mine has a lite squeal. I am holding out to change them over the winter.
