Once in a while there is a set in the classifieds. There is a complete 380 setup for sale in the swap shop.

I tried the 380 plates on my straight bottom 42 Fountain. They sucked. Way to sensitive to trim adjustments. I waited and thought I would get used to them after a full season but nope. Went back to the 280's. I think on a step bottom or even with horizontal mounting they work much better.
And yes they will hit. My drives are on IMCO boxes and I still had to trim them 2". |

With you current stock steering, you would have to cut off more of the plates than if you had hyd. steering.
The stock system allows the drives to turn a lot more than hyd. steering does. Probably 2-3 inches more. |
