fuel burn per hour

I need some help from all of you experienced guys. I am wondering what kind of fuel burn per hour you could expect from this boat

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o36151-en.html

at 60 mph which should be easily in it's sweet spot for just cruising around. I am trying to do some calculations for possible distance/range.
I am new to the bigger go fast boats and know that it will be an educated guess at best. Thanks in advance for any help given!!!

Gotta be honest, and no offense, but if you are new to higher performance boats I am not sure this is the one for you- 120 mph cats are normally not the best boats to learn on, find a stable deep vee that runs in the 70's and move to the higher speeds later! Had a friend killed about 15 yrs ago, bought a boat he shouldnt have based on his inexperience with fast boats, said ill just cruise in it until i know what i am doing, had a few beers one night and lost control at full throttle, died instantly.

I agree 100% with GFS !!!!!!

but i also tell u with twin 700+ procharged 500's it will be about 2.5 gallons per mile !!!! :party-smiley-004:

That boat falls into the category that if you have to ask about gas mileage, then it is not for you.

Between $hitty and REAL $hitty

Figure .5 lbs fuel per hour HP. Use max HP at WOT....best guess at cruise. Gas is about 6.5-7 lbs gal. If you run out of gas before you get back to dock, rework your HP estimate :drink:

Its only money

If you're worried about gas then this boat is not for you!
Just my 02 Cents :lolhit:

50 Gph @ 60 .....

Buying gas will be the cheapest part of owning a boat like this by far!!!!!!

Griff 09-28-2010 11:17 PM

I hope you realize that fuel will be about least expensive thing on that boat.
If you are new to bigger go fast boats, NOBODY is going to insure you in a 120mph cat and you shouldn't be driving one anyway.

BTW, 50-60GPH at cruise speeds.
