I just bought an 85 cig 28ss W/twin sb chevys. The engine tags are labeled 300 Mercruiser. I have been told that theese are Tempest Engines is this true? If so at what rpm range do they redline or blow?

I thought Mercruiser posted rpm limits on the valve cover?

I do not know if they do or not but I have aftermarket valve covers. I found out the other day that they were definately Tempest engines but I still dont know max rpms.
Anyway thanks for your imput.
