my winter project dyno sheet

This is the first dyno pull we made the boost is higher then we wanted and the bsfc is to low.We will dyno again on wed. have a pulley and belt coming. I think we have the carb fixed will let you all know soon.

HaxbySpeed 03-14-2011 03:48 PM

Looks awesome Dennis, that is a killer package!! Congrats!

Very nice numbers Dennis,........

What set-up are you running for forced induction?

Jon

GPM 03-15-2011 05:56 PM

M-4 http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...ject-done.html

mike tkach 03-15-2011 05:57 PM

tell me more, what type of induction, what fuel[octane]what motor&what heads, inquiring minds want to know.:party-smiley-004:

Sonic30ss 03-15-2011 06:27 PM

Talk about a fat torque curve!! Nice

obsessed1 03-15-2011 07:13 PM

nice numbers, that htm is gonna run!!!

dennis r 03-16-2011 04:44 AM

Jon it is a M4 Procharger

GPM 03-16-2011 06:43 PM

Back on the dyno, how did it go ?

dennis r 03-16-2011 07:20 PM

I got my boost down and I got my msd box fixed but still having fuel issues.

Nice....will you be at Hardy Dam??

What kind of fuel issues?

We played around awhile to get mine right. I didn't see afr's on dyno sheet? Your BSFC seemed weird.

Awesome for a first pull Dennis!!!

dennis r 03-17-2011 12:34 PM

Afr was about 13 we think we are restricting it at the regulater
all seams good till we get there so we are going to try something different tonight.

GPM 03-17-2011 02:45 PM

What size fuel line are you running, what regulator ?

GPM 03-17-2011 03:00 PM

Young Performance 03-17-2011 10:45 PM

It was good talking with you Dennis. I hope I was some help to you with the fuel system plumbing.
Did my plan work?
Let me know if I can help any further.
Eddie

dennis r 03-18-2011 04:35 AM

I did try that Eddie and it was the same, so I am running out of pump or my carb will not flow that much fuel.

Young Performance 03-18-2011 01:34 PM

When you plumbed it the way that I said, did it maintain fuel pressure. If it did, then the pump isn't the problem. If the pump is to small, then the pressure will either not rise at a 1:1 ratio to boost or it will actually back up and the pressure will fall instead of rising.
Eddie

CNC ya'll have a Link for the Hardy Party this year ?:drink:

dennis r 03-18-2011 02:05 PM

The fuel pressure did fall from where it was.

I don't think there is one... I've never seen one...just spread by word

Mr Gadgets 03-18-2011 04:13 PM

Dennis,
are you going after it some more??? It does look lean at the top..

dennis r 03-18-2011 05:48 PM

no I pulled it off the dyno today going to look at some things and may go back up

Just curious, what's the guy running the shop / dyno think the problem is?

dennis r 03-18-2011 08:24 PM

Hes not sure we think it may be the fuel pump he did some test on it befor I got there and it looks like that may be it. I still want to send my carb out and have it looked at I think

GPM 03-18-2011 08:29 PM

I ran my 2345 weldon when I dynoed mine, the shop pump would not supply enough fuel. You probably need somewhere between 160 and 180 gph.

Young Performance 03-18-2011 08:57 PM

Then you have a supply issue. It is either the pump is to small, supply hoses are to small, pickup in the tank (which I doubt) filter is to small (again, I doubt it), etc. If the shop has run 1400 hp in the past, then I doubt it is their supply. If I had to bet, I would say it's the pump. Like I told you on the phone, Aeromotive is very generous on their ratings from what I've seen. I have had pumps that are supposed to support almost 1000 hp start to lose pressure on a NA 700 hp engine above 5000 rpm. That's why I pretty much don't use them anymore. Stick with the Weldon's. They are the best out there. They actually under rate their pumps. They will support more than they say they will. You still need to size it correctly, but you at least have a little margin.
Good luck. Let me know if I can help. I know what you are going through. Been there....done that. I would be glad to offer any advice I may have.
Eddie

dennis r 03-18-2011 09:01 PM

Thank you Eddie you are always a big help I really appreciate your help

CNC 03-28-2011 11:02 AM

Dennis,
What did you end up with? Pump? Regulator? Final? HP numbers?

dennis r 03-30-2011 08:24 PM

I went to a weldon 2025 pump and regulator. But I am going back to the dyno april 9 and will do it all over again.

dennis r 04-08-2011 10:32 PM

Going back to the dyno in the morning.:party-smiley-048:

GPM 04-10-2011 09:28 AM

Hope all went well.

dennis r 04-10-2011 10:02 AM

It went very good new pump fixed everything. his printer stopped working so I don't have any thing to put up here yet .He is going to e-mail me the dyno sheets when he gets them.
