Default carb upgrade question

Would I see any increase in performance in changing my intake and carbs on a twin hp 500 cat from 800 holleys to 1050 dominators? The intake choices would be dart or edelbrock victors, any preferance? I have no experience with the dominators but like everyone could use a few more mph. Do they idle and perform at all speeds or just wot? Thanks for any imput. Doug

Can't tell from your post if your motors are merc HP500's. If they are HP 500's . The combination from Merc is a 800cfm carb with a dart intake manifold. Changing carbs and a different manifold will be of no benifit. If you want additional power have you engine blueprinted.
