I used mobil one v twin since my rebuilds in 08, i did them this year as my alum heads finally gave way. one cam had grooves in the lobe, im not saying this is from the mobil one as when the cams were bought in 07 crane had some cams that werent hardened enough. I just switched to amsoli v twin oil which according to all tests that i read surpassed mobil 1 v twin in every catagory including amount of zinc. have a few hours on it with the amsoil and really like the sound and oil pressure readings, if you close your eyes and just listen to the engines they sound smooth..ohh and wix/napa filters...just fyi i also found out that the standard 1060 filter from napa only flows 9 gallons per hour and the 1060R flows 28 gallons per hour.

I'm as guilty of this as anyone- I use Amsoil religiously- but can we all agree that a high quality synthetic has advantages over a standard oil, and which ever one you use is going to protect your engine better. Beyond that, what's the measurable benefit even if say Amsoil is better than Mobil 1- my rings are gonna last 10 more hours?

How does the filtration efficiency compare between the two filters?

Is one gravel strainer compared to the other?
