Default 575SCI's, anyone swap out the blowers?

I'm very interested in upgrading the stock Weiand/Merc 575 blowers for billet Blower Shop 250's. It's not a direct bolt on, anyone have experience with this swap? I do not have ANY more room to go up, not interested in modifying the hatch. Are they the exact same height? TBS stated it's close but no exact measurements.

Thanks,

Kurt

-Just got off the phone with Eric @ The Blower Shop, their 250 series unit is 5.25" tall. Anyone got a 575 blower sitting around that they could measure? Mine's in storage.

I just measured one, looks like 5-7/8" to the top of blower, bottom of throttle body adapter plate.

A friend with a 29' Fountain/575 blew his Merc Weiand up beyond wanting to fix it. He had about 1/4" clearance underneath his rear hatch, in other words tight.
EBM replaced it with the BS billet 250. Still tight, but it fits OK, and looks better.
FYI, we replaced mine (Merc/Weiand) with a BS billet 871. It is 1 7/8" taller. I did have to modify my hatch, but it was worth it. Both installs were with the BS intake manifolds too.
You should be good to go with the 250.

Hey Kurt, you have the whipple intakes with the drop in intercooler right? I think an 8-71 would bolt up really well in that application (like Steve Z said) and you already have the intake for it on the motor if I'm not mistaken. I'm guessing hatch clearance is your main concern?

Hey Steve, what did the 8-71 do for you?

Yup, Whipple intercoolers. -Would love to go with 8-71's but there is zero clearence between the hatch and flame arrestors.
