1Gunner:

On your combination you'd probably made more power with the 650 after taking some fuel out of it. Your Brake numbers went up a bunch vs. the other carb you ran.

1Gunner,

You'll like the SS. I have a pair. They should take your HP. But still be nice to them. I've got mine straped to a pair of 409 SBC's putting out 425 HP. They run really well on 750's.

This weekend was the wet test.....

Tried 3 props, Mirage 23P, 25P and a Bravo1 24P.
The 23P allowed my RPM to reach 5200 and showed the best (so far) top speed of 75.2 MPH.
Not bad though considering the engine's tight, and rich, the weather was 90 and humid, and the tank was full.

At top end the boat does want to chine walk, so I may have to keep looking at props....

Anyone have any suggestions??

Alpha SS drives were made in the late 80's so any you find will have time on them. All internals are available to make them "as new" as your budget will permit.

Traviss, mine were already on the boat when I bought it. Mine were modified to eliminate the tiny low water pickups to remote pickups that work well. I need to test some props to get the most out of the boat.
