Thanks for the replies,
yes I want to keep the one piece rear main seal, even though I have everything to do the 2 pc swap, I want to get a 1 pc roller block.
I have the Vortec because they're a good bolt on option, these are off of a 6.2 as i said and they came with the bosses cut with seals from the factory, and most important an OSO member really gave me a heck of a deal on them with low hours. so they should freshen up easily.
I thought about a 377 400 block but why go backward in technology with the seal and anti roller block that is more expensive in the long run IMO.
Thanks for the rod angle info on the 454, didn't know that.

I didn't see that you are in Kissimmee, I live off Boggy Creek. What machine shop are you using? What is the cc in a 6.2 head? They are aluminum right? I think i still have a vortec carb intake laying around my shop if you need to buy one. I have some freinds that run 400 sb motors in thier airboats. Everyone that i know that ran 400 motors never went back to smaller motors. I am a big block guy but I was planning on building a 400 motor for my Vette so I can take out the # matching motor.
