I second that. I use mine the same way. Since I figured that out some time ago, I threw away that P.O.S. Mighty Vac pump.

Are you guys using the manual one or the one that uses compressed air? I have been wanting to get one and wasn't sure which one to get.
I have a couple of buckets with the 12 V electric pump on top to pump out oil. They work pretty good for engine oil, but that's about it.
THanks, Eddie

I use the manuel one because at my marina I have no access to a compresser........I would bet it is even easier with the compressed air, but the manuel unit works great.

I use these quick connects on my engine oil drain hose attached to my oil pan. Have the 12v pump with fitting to pump into gallon jugs, warm oil flows best, but have to let it go lower than 180 degrees or it might hurt the pump internals. Been doing it since 2006 no problems with leaks yet.

Due to limited space behind the blowers I had to modify my set up to drain the oil from the rear of the blower......here is what we came up with......this should do it........

the quick release fitting should be sticking straight up just past the top of the blower......easy access and like was stated before, if the fitting/plug ever did come off or break the oil still wouldn't go any where......

I can use this to drain the reservoir and fill it too.......I will post in a few weeks how it works out.....
