That would probably work, as long as you got flow once up and running. These power steering pumps were originally designed to loaf along on the freeway at 1800 rpm. When you push a marine motor at 5000+, it is doing a lot of bypassing, generating tons of heat. So for most apps, a good cooler is a must.

Thanks for all the input. I bought the motor with out a power steering pump or cooler, so I am not removing it I just need to know if I need to add one. I am going to full hyd twin ram steering. Again, thank you.
