I've been running twin small block 6.2L in my Sunsation and I'm really pleased with the fuel economy. So far I've been averaging a fill up once a month. That usually includes a good half hour cruise every Saturday and then hanging out at the cove. Suits me pretty well. Haven't had it long enough (since November) to have some solid numbers, but I like the performance and the economy with my budget.

I am definitely not going to hang with some of the big boys around, but then again, there's always someone faster. But I am faster than most, have a nice smooth ride and enjoy the hell out of it.

Definitely check out Formula, they make boats in your size range with twin small blocks.

For me with twin BBC its usually a hundred bucks in fuel for a normal day/outing without a lot of hard running or long distance traveling. The 1.5-2 mpg numbers above are pretty close for me at cruise. At todays prices, longer trips or poker runs are a three to five hundred dollar or more fill up. Running these boats makes no economic sense, you have to love it to make it worthwhile. We save most of the year to able to boat in the summer.

you don't have to have to blow an engine. all you have to do is blow a fuse. would you rather be towed home? or drive back on one engine? goodbye.

Oh really, please tell me where there is a fuse that will kill my engine so it won't run! I've built several boats from nothing and I don't ever recall seeing that fuse!

What kind of props are you guys running, that seems to make a difference. With the Hydromotives, about 1.3 was as good as it got with 330's.

I appreciate all the input guys. I know that no matter what boat I have to deal with fuel costs. I just wanted to know if it would be double that of one bbc and average fuel cost per wknd etc. I got a lot of helpful answers, I mean I really want a single 29 fountain but really dont think ill be able to get one on my budget. There was a 29 twin I was looking at and just didnt know if it would cost me 300 a wknd to just cruise a mile or two to a cove and hangout and come back. I know i need to be realistic about costs but dont wanna spend 1000 a month on fuel not to mention other costs. Once again thanks for the input
