Default 502 Lost Power acting like V6

Quick history: 502 MPI wich has the VST canister pump.

Running fine this spring until it got real hot then I had issue with vapor lock. Probably caused the vapor lock my self due to filling up last winter with winter mix and ethanol. Filled back up three weeks ago on the water with non-ethanol gas. No more vapor lock.

Two weeks ago it was slower gitting up on plane but not much, just enough to notice.

This week, it barely managed to get on plane going out and could not get on plane coming back in. Managed to turn 2900 RPM and 13 MPH at WOT. Engine did not mis at idle or all the way to 2900 RPM. The boat just does not have any power. Change the fuel filter this morning and it had no effect. Took the VST apart last winter and cleaned the filter.

I mentioned this before but after this, lets try again. The dealer will take a look tomorrow but I thinking of repowering and with a few more ponies (go figure). I have about 250 hours on the 502 crate motor and with my 27PC weighting in at 10K and can use the torque to get out of the hole, but maybe not as much as I think. The 525EFI is said to be the most versital engine around. so if I go that way I will also need to replace the out drive. My out drive is a standard bravo 3. Put more hp behind it and something is going to break. I need a complete setup and I want to know what is available. The 540 has more torque (so they say) but I want to stick with EFI. What can someone offer for either of my questions?
