Call Bill at Ateco and at least check it out, they are in your back yard. If they have a short block for that price and ready to ship, it would be a fast turn around and be built right. Powerboat had a great write up about them a few years ago, I have talked to them at LOTO a couple of times, and they seem like knowledgeable guys. Not sure how many hours you have on the motor, but it would cost that much to rebuild yours, and you would have to assemble it.
