Default What pistons come in a 502 mag?

Like the title says. I just disassembled my 502 mag that was supposedly rebuilt 70 hours ago. The pistons look good, but they are je flat tops with one intake valve relief. For some reason I thought the 502 mag came with a small dome piston. The motor is 30 over.

Thanks

Default 502 Dome

Yep,
the few 502 Mag from factory i have torn down are JE and have a small dome on them with valve relief.

Did you do a compression check before the tear down? Maybe the block & heads were decked below quench area.

Others can probaly help more.

Yes, the factory pistons are a mini dome.

These pistons are in great shape with no wear on the skirts at all, but I don't think the flat tops are going to help me get to my 600hp n/a goal.

Does anyone know of a replacement piston part number? Or even what size the dome is on the stock piston?

Thanks

The stock pistons have a .050 dome with a valve relief. THey total 1 cc. JE has a small dome piston with a 10 cc dome that will get you where you need to be.
