Angry IMCO drive issue

Well after waiting for months to get a pair of -2/SC's.
We found out almost the hard way that drive #A176 had no provision for water to pass through it and on to the gimbal.
Check your upper case to make sure its in yours...it was not in one of mine.
Other than that they are awesome looking and we expect good results with the -2 shorties.

Was that because you didn't order it that way or that they FORGOT to machine it into the case?

Was it the upper or lower that was not machined?

Why, could it be ordered that way?
Why would they send me two different ones then?
I have a pic...at work now, I will post it later.
Maybe it could be ordered that way...It was never mentioned to me at the time we ordered them?!?!

In the upper gear housing is where it was missing.

Hey you guys, how has the new IMCO SC drive been performing to date? Hear of any breakage yet? I am interested in the drives as well, but want to see how others are doing with them first. Thanks.

Unhappy Back4More I need some help

Sorry for being so slow but I'm not understanding totally what you are saying.
Are you saying the drive did not have a passage to allow water to get to the motor or are you talking about the drive did not have a passage to get water from the lower to the upper for its internal cooling system?
I have about 17 hours logged on my SC. With no apparent problems.
683 hp on dyno @ 5684
spinning about 5300 = 663 hp

This is a guess in red - drive loss 30 hp, - car headers to CMI's 10 hp, - accesories 10 hp = puts me at about?? 610 @ the prop.

This is on my 24' cat weighing about 4800 lbs. wet. (fuel, 2 people, cooler, etc.)

Need some help: is my calulation in red close or way off?

Mine have been trouble free so far, about 12 hours behind whippled 502's. Just changed the fluid, no water or problems. I did have a few shavings on the magnetic plug but only a few.

Default from the lower to the upper.

meaning
01. no water to cool the drive
02. no water to cool the engine
03. or both

Sorry just got to know ya know!
