Solid roller lash check

I have a pair of chief 598's with 10-71's and solid roller sutup's. How often are you guys checking lash? Running a comp cam with 260/268 @ .50 and calls for .20 lash. Every weekend, 10 hours, 20 hours...........?

Rev limiter set 6k on these. Is it worth swapping over to hydraulics?

What rockers are you running ?

I check mine once at the start of the summer. I have never had to adjust any lash once they have been set. About 50hrs is the longest I have gone with out removing my heads though. What lift you running? I assume you got that Cat.

Yes I did get the cat. Not sure on what rockers yet, but will be checking here soon. I have only had the boat a week, so still learning some things about it. Was looking at the cam card last night, and I am at work now but I think lift was .712/.690 or something close to it.......

Sounds Like a lot of cam for hydraulic lifters.

I would first check the lash at about 20 hrs and then again every 10-15 hours. When the lash exceeds .002 over your base setting, you will then better know your approximate adjustment interval. Our experience is the lash adjustment cycle depends on the entire valve train combination.

Solid roller with Jezel shaft rockes on a NA 557. I check the lash at the beginning of each season, never much of a change at all. That said, I think if the lash changed by more than a few thou. there might be something bad going on? Sorry, guess that's as much of a question as it is a reply...........

Okay popped a couple breathers off on my lunch break, looks like a gold crane roller rocker, with a rocker girdle on top. Couldn't see through the small hole well enough to tell if they were shaft mounted or not?
