Default No fuel pump provision on motor

Have a motor with no fuel pump boss.Want to use a merc elec pump that I have # 861155-2 .Problem is I don't remember if this came off of a carbed or injection motor.I want to use it on a carbed motor. Does anyone know or have any input. Both the in and out ports are threaded, injection pumps I think only have one side threaded but not sure.JOHN SR

No Merc carbed engines used electric pumps.

They never did it on a b/b . Always used the sea pump fuel pump combo
If its a b/b why not do it that way

My boat has a 515 BBC with a Aeromotive pump. You need to see what the Merc pump pressure is before trying to use it with a carb.
7 psi Max, or to 14 PSI with a fuel return line to the tank.
Ditch the Merc and get a 7 PSI Aeromotive pump.

I guess I should have said BBC Mercs. I know nothing about V6's or SBC's.

Most likely it was switched from the OEM mechanical fuel pump on the sea pump to an aftermarket electric pump.
