Actually, if the pressure is higher, then the flow is less. In layman's terms, if you take a garden hose with a valve on the end, and tap a pressure gauge in the middle of the hose, and turn the supply on, the highest pressure reading you will get is with the valve at the end closed. Which also happens to be the lowest possible flow- none. If you open the valve at the end, you will get the lowest pressure reading. Which also happens to be the highest flow- maximum. A 1/2" ID tube is approximately 50% larger than a 3/8" ID tube.

I agree with what you're saying except for one thing. In your example, you're taking your measurement of pressure before the restriction - the valve on the end. I'm taking my measurement after the restriction - the pump. My scenario is more like putting air in a tire - the more you put in, the higher the pressure goes. It doesn't matter how fast you put the air in - pressure goes up according to the volume of air that goes into the tire.

I think Edelbrock makes a mechanical fuel pump with 1/2 npt.

Team Gary, you're right Edlebrock does have a mechenical pump available with 1/2" npt. I just purchased 2 of their pumps a few months ago. They require a fuel pressure regulator. These are much better than the Holley pumps that I replaced them with. We tested them on the dyno---very good mechanical pump!
