Keep on with your pathetic attempts to attack and escalate the situation here. You are failing miserably FYI

Mild Thunder- to answer your question about what FIXX Posted in this thread earlier.
Noticed FIXX was an EMI dealer from an exhaust thread I had posted in, so I sent him a PM asking him about having to grind the manifolds if I were to use ARP head studs. I've heard from others this is an issue. The aspect that wasn't discussed many times, was that they were using studs with standard exhaust port locations. Not .300 raised like my aftermarket heads have. Again, friend who sold me the ARP mains also has head studs for as much as I can buy new ARP Bolts along with the 4 GM studs for windage tray. Besides the fact i don't like the idea of mixing bolts and studs.

yes. Difference was in the bolts. Truck rods (330 merc) had 3/8 bolts. Hi Perf (mag rods) had 7/16.
I personally, and as it was stated, I'm not a engine builder, would never reuse a stock rod bolt that has been in a engine since the 80's. I would at minimum replace with new 8740 ARP wave-loc bolts for the extra 60 bucks a set. Most shops charge 120-140 bucks to recondition a rod. So figure that, plus new bolts, you'll be about 200 bucks into the stock rods. But, hey, everyones budget is different, and theres nothing wrong with saving some money by re-using them, as long as they check out. The GM 7/16 I beam with good bolts will take some rpm. Heck, years ago, that's all they ran.
Heres a article on rebuilding rods. Theres a little more to it than tossing some new bolts in them.

yes, and what I meant by that is the bolt size is a easy way to tell the difference....also, they had slightly different versions of the dimple rods over the years. Ive got some here that you can clearly see the differences in the beam sizing....but both have 7/16 bolts

Statement; Borgie
Personally I believe in the scorpion marine roller rockers & pushrods(best they have) isky tool room springs, isky locks and retainers, morel lifters, rollermaster billet timing chain. That's my "recipe" for a stout valvetrain.
This sounds like something that was regurgitated. This sounds like someone else's statement; like Madara.

If you look back in the thread when mild thunder and I were describing our preferences he used the term "recipe" which I releated when describing my preference and what I am using. These are without a doubt Bob Maderas chosen parts. At no point did I try to come off like I formulated any of these parts combinations. Personally I have used scorpion roller rockers prior, as well as the rollermaster, and various isky valvetrain components. I contacted bob for my build months prior to starting it, and he asked what components I already had. Explained what I had and he explained his preferences and what works. Just so happens he likes the rollermaster timing chains.
So you are free to believe what you wish, but I have used said parts prior. This new engine, no, it's not built yet and I've made that very clear. I am also aware that bob frequents this site and is a great contributor here. He has helped me out tremendously with my build and I am grateful for that. The last thing I would do is try to take his ideas as my own. He is the expert and I wasn't intending to make it sound by any stretch that these were somehow my ideas. Again go back into the thread and look at the verbiage. It's clear I was using MT's choice of words ie, (recipe), when offering up my "preference to parts". I can see how that can be taken the wrong way. Never my intent.
And Mild Thunder, don't get all flustered like I'm placing any blame on you. I'm just stating the facts of our debate.

I just finished completely tearing down the starboard engine. This motor has 188 heads instead of the 990's and a double roller timing chain. Also, all the rods and main caps were already stamped with their numbers respectively. Pistons don't have a part number on them but underneath they have "SRP 73F JE" I will be tearing down the port motor this week and both go to machine shop on Sat next week.
As for the build, I have a few things crossing my mind. I'm now also thinking of boosting the motors. There was a pair of B&M250's with single 1050 dominators on ebay that just ended but didn't meet the seller's reserve. I spoke to the guy and he still has them. Once I hear back from macine shop and figure out whats needed I'll revisit my options.
Right now, just tearing down and finding parts, just won a set of crane gold roller rockers and bidding on a second set.

If I decide to go blower route what should be done about the heads? Should I keep my stock 990's and 188's and just upgrade the components or go for the Brodix aluminum? I was originally going for the Brodix Race Rite Rectangles with the 290 runners. Chose the rect so i could keep my current intake, I hear the stock intake works well. Money is an issue here, would the bigger stock heads work better than my choice of aftermarket with forced induction?
