The 2.300 valve respond well on the right hand port. The left port is lazy with any valve. I would stay with a 1.880 on the exhaust side. You can do some short turn work and gain about 15 percent (240 cfm @.700) with a valve profile change. Fully ported I've had them in the 270 cfm range but it's time consuming/expensive.

Well I have some thinking to do. Sounds like a 2.30 intake could help but more so when combined with more extensive port work than I think I can pull off myself. JimV the exhaust ports I have done in the past flowed around 230 cfm @ .700, I guess I am just so use to having to do whatever work is necessary to make something out of what I have because I was always on such a tight budget. I might be cheating myself out of allot of time and aggravation by not considering new aluminum heads more seriously
