And this is the point I was making earlier in this thread.. Comparing cam specs on the Internet is pointless unless you have more information. You end up with a guy giving you cam specs for a mediocre street engine build. Chris, maybe a disclaimer would be helpful next time you post cam specs that would destroy a typical 700hp marine engine, when posting on a boating site.
You should have put some of your magic horsepower in a bottle in that 540, or maybe some of those rods that add 50hp. Then you would've been getting closer to a decent power level for a street strip 540.

I can't say anything about your machine work since Carl at CNC blocks does it. You do use a qualified machinest for your bottom end machine work. Carl understands tolerances and builds a great engine. It is refreshing to see someone like you sub work out to someone that has some talent.

The OP asked about 700HP 540's. It was a general question and I answered it with general specifications. Now if the poster contacted me then would could get into the details of what is needed to accomplish his goals.

And like one of the EMC engines I cammed in 2013 for Weingartner racing, that cam in that BBC 540 would not be something that would fit in a boat or a street car as it was designed to win a specific competition. Although he did not win he did get the award for most peak HP and torque in the competition.

So ...you posted info on a car build, to get his attention so that he'd contact you ?

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha

So.....how many posts vs how many name drops are we at now ?

So.....how many times are we gonna here you say peak hp and torque don't matter.....it's all about how flat the power curve is ? Yet, you tought your cam at the EMC got spanked judged on average power / torque within the specified rpm range but yet you boast it made the highest peak hp / torque.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha ...You kill me. Good entertainment though.

Go stick that cam in your own boat and let us know how it works out.

Forums are for the exchange of information. I applaud you for trying it yourself with marineperformancetechtalk.com, it's hard to get enough people with different views to exchange ideas. You gave it a good go.

I think you have asked in the past who uses my stuff, I thought you would appreciate the

I sold the fountain. It was to much for the small lake I am on so it has gone to the OH river.

Yeah it was like 3 more HP he needed. Maybe this year at EMC.

Chicagoland, you must know Tom with the blown 572 in the tunnel. I cammed that engine 4 or 5 years ago. He runs it on the river up there. Got quite a few up there.

Tom that lives under a tunnel near a river? Nope, I prefer to boat in clean water.

Good luck with that. GM & Ford can't do that, but you can. Is that from the HP in the bottle too?

BTW, how come all the threads on your magic juice vanished into thin air? Just like your cam picks. All smoke and mirrors
