Nice, never thought about that!

That mechanical pump on the efi engines is only there to help supply the high pressure pump. It doesn't have enough pressure alone to work with EFI. It will only make 5-6 psi. The high pressure EFI pumps do not pull fuel very well. They are more suited to pushing fuel. You existing pump may be sufficient, but you should definitely rebuild/replace it since you are freshening the engine. I prefer electric pumps personally. I good choice would be an Aeromotive Street Rod pump. It will require a regulator. If you stay mechanical, CP Performance has an upgraded pump section to go on your existing pump body. This would get you not only a fresh pump, but one with more capacity.

Thanks Eddie I was thinking in the beginning to use a electric pump, with a regulator! But wasn't sure if a street rod or high perf./ marine, none marine Was good enuf! I know I'm only going to be using low psi, so all input is really helpful, all my drag boats always used electric so that's why I was kinda leaning that way! But the whatever the best is, and reliable is good for me! Lol!

Mechanical on my motor. I'll take a mechanical pump over an electric pump any day.
