Well, flat tappet is the first drawback. With today's low zinc content oils roller cams are king. They free up hp and allow more aggressive ramping. I am not an expert bye any means btw...but I am a technical guy and would not attempt to steer you wrong. However I would not attempt to spec a cam for you.

Just wondering what would you use instead of the flat tappet cam want to install hyd roller does crane make a direct cross to roller..

There are lots of proven upgrade combo's for the 575SCi.

I would probably lean towards something close to the 525EFI cam. Its a Crane 168741 ground on a 114 lob sep.
I would call some marine engine builders with experience bumping the hp up on 575SCi.
