your internet starters Links are killing guys like me as this is one reason why boat shops can not survive like the old days. I am not talking about ripping the customer off but somewhere in the mix we have to make money on part sales. Those prices are cheaper than I can even buy them wholesale, even if I bought a 100 of them all at once. . To put this on the other shoe, it would like going to work for 40 hours per week and getting paid only for 30. Anyways Walmart and the internet sales has hurt a lot of small business locations. No BS I can not even buy those starters at that price from API. Good luck.

BUP, I'm in the internet business selling medical supplies, and I can feel your pain from a different perspective - Amazon and eBay are hitting our sales, along with the fly-by-night guys who get supplies from a lab for free and then sell them out of their trunk on the web. No phone or email support at all, just out the door. It's great for someone who just wants to buy a part at the lowest cost, but then when something goes bad they want to call us up and have us on the phone for an hour asking for advice. Things are tough out there.

Back on topic, cables can become corroded inside the insulation and this results in a lot of resistance. They look fine from the outside, but can be corroded under the jacket. Had a set of cables with clear insulation on them once, and after a few years they turned green and starter did not want to turn the motor over. Replaced cables and saw a big jump in performance.

I am not to sure about the first link. It maybe an old webpage just hanging in cyberspace, also the model # is different. There is no HD at the end. The 2nd link is more realistic. As for internet sales I am in the same boat as you guys. I own a Hvac business. My customers are going online and buying reachin refrigerators, ice machines, ac units with free shipping. I buy my equipment from a supplier and the internet beats there price..

As for the battery cables. The motor has no problem when the engine is cold but after its warmed up there is a slight delay before it spins

I am in the auto repair business and get this all the time: "I can get my fuel pump for $XX.XX off the internet". My reply is to have the internet install it for you.
