Bananarama , 9 and 10`s is too rich, mine ran like a turd with those numbers. (had primary and secondary PV ..unknown to me)
We like ours mid 11`s. Joe ran the $hit out of his boat last year at mid 11s and 32* locked .( I believe) He`s at 9.1 Im at 8.0ish. I`ll have to look into Lake RV ..Let me know when you`re in town. My exhaust that was supposed to be done in 7-10 days we`re at almost 4 months now . Gen III Stainless marine. I should have just had it powdercoated but no I had to get fancy and have it hydrodipped carbon fiber.

Stev-O. I knew you`d look at the 800sc map ha! Mine are 893hp. crank it over and see what the compression is .. mine is around 140psi. Or give all the specs to Joe he`ll get you an exact number

EDIT:

Hey bananarama is thsi still true LOL

Although "Ho-Chunk" is the people's own name for themselves, their Algonquian neighbors called them "Winnebago", which means "people of the filthy water". This term was used by the Algonquians because Lake Winnebago had a strong fish odor in the summer.[

LOL ya Dan thats true... Way to funny.. The lake is big but shallow so the water gets very warm, and algae grows in late summer. Winds usually come out of the south so the north end get smelly at times (on calm days) The lake can be calm as glass, then 15 minutes later you can have 5 footers. The wave are close together. Its like riding across a freshly plowed corn field. But lots of Bars & party beaches, oh and places to eat.

3 hours that`s not bad. We drive thru there to get to our cabin in the UP. So its not like a washing machine? .. my beast likes large evenly spaced waves

Bananaman , if I remember right you run projected tip plugs ? I was told they give a degree or two worth of advance compared to a standard plug. So if 30* with projected tip, it be like having 32 with a standard tip. Just what I was told .

I like the idea of setting timing for proper combustion time, rather than using it as a power adder or power reducer. Every setup is different though... chamber style, boost pressure, air fuel ratio, cam timing, etc etc.

For curious minds, Daytona Sensors box worked GREAT!
As of today:
These were same for both tests. Idle is decent and boat gets on plane nice - IFR .031, TSR .079, IAB .055, MAB .032, mix screws out 1.25 turns, Idle AFR 13.5, shift into gear about 850 RPM and when RPMs drop below 800, my Daytona Sensors CD-1 adds idle timing to compensate for the RPM drop...slick! Need to download data log from box to PC and review, forgot to do that before leaving boat storage.

Last lake trial top and today's lake trial bottom. Air temp today about ~10ºF-15ºF higher, and 3000 RPM is about 1/3 throttle. Considering dropping primary jets to 83 and PVCRs to .067

Setup 89prijet, 3.5PV, .081PVCR
RPM 2500 3000
AFR 12 10.3
Vacuum 3.5 0

Setup 84prijet, 2.5PV, .073PVCR
RPM 2500 3000
AFR 13.2 11.2
Vacuum 3.5 0

Adding 7º below 800 RPM to the 15º idle timing making it 22º total. I may play with this a little and try adding 10º - 12º

Good to hear about your results Steve.
I had it running nice @16* but the motor was already warmed up. Trying to start it cold today it wasn`t having it. Had to raise it to 23* and add a litttle more fuel. AFR are now around 13 ish but she starts right up..

Dan, I think your going to find your best idle , especially in gear at high 12's to low 13's. I forget what specs your motor is, but thought it was a very close build as mine.

My idle is good around the 13.3 -13.5 range. Much above this it wants to sneeze and once I get below this, the surging starts and then the AFRs swing from mid 12's to mid 13's and 800-1500 rpm. With the AFRs I listed earlier, I cruised around the lake yesterday mostly around 45-50mph with 2 people and ~70 gallons of fuel and only burned down about 15 gallons. AND I feel there's room to lean this cruise a bit more. The additional timing being added with vacuum and the map sensor on the DS box had to help as well.
