The smallest 5B merc makes is a 17x26 I would try that. I ran anything from a 16.5 x 30 3B to a 17.5 x 34 6B when testing. Here is the weird thing , I had nowhere near the the thump to turn those big wheels BUT it seems the drives being so far out of the water it just worked. I gained 14 GPS mph going from a 16.5 x 24 4B going to a 17.75 x 32 4B but still had 22% slip.

Kaama boats LOVE diameter the bigger the better.

Whats a good place to try and find a pair of these to try?

I was going to put merc bravo setup on, Because Twin Disk told me the trannys
would only hold 500hp. Was not my intention when I bought the boat Kaamas looked so Cool!

John, are you running 8% or 13% over drive.?.. I have a transom assembly if you want to come take a look.

I am looking at a boat that has them, and was told that they are 18% overdrive with 23 P props, and have seen gears as low as 13% underdrive, so do they perform better with more prop pitch, or more gear with less prop pitch?
