Default Hydraulic vs Electric trim tabs

Ok, just a thought. I know you guys are well versed and much more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to boating. When I bought my boat I installed Nauticus trim tabs. They do help me get on plane and cut wakes, but after doing some research I feel my initial decision may have been hasty.

So, since I have to replace the transom on my boat I thought I'd look into making it handle a bit better. So please advise me on what tabs are better, hydraulic or electric.

Thanks in advance.

How big is your boat? What kind of speeds are we talking?

21 foot and 60 mph.... yoou dont need to spend big money on k-planes etc... a ser of heavy duty, sat 12x12 lenco's (electric) or bennets (hydraulic) are all you need. I have lencos and I like them.

It's only 21 feet long. I figure after the new engine and more power I'll be tickling 60 on GPS.

I was looking at either one. Why did you choose the Lencos, if I might ask?

On my little boat, i ran into pump problems on my small bennet's and an occasional ram freezing. I Got the lenco rams that bolt right into place of the Bennets. Has worked well for a handful of years and freed up some room in my almost non existent engine compartment.

I actually have another new set of the single Lenco's for Bennet Single ram trim tabs. Bought two sets by mistake (finger shudder I guess) and never saw the other set arrive at my shop. Thanks employees ! Until I finally kicked them months later. Couldn't return them at that point.

Someone make me just under a fair offer and they are yours.

Brand New in the shipping box even.

Lenco #15064-001

12 Volt. Kit includes everything necessary to upgrade your current boat w/out any drilling or filling. Simply discard the hydraulic pump unit & the 2 Bennett cylinders. Install the 2 Lenco™ electric actuators (6' leads) with the new-style upper mounting brackets on your existing Bennett trim planes. Connect the Lenco™ actuator wiring to the existing harness (jumper wires are included for attaching to current switch). Complete installation instructions included.
