borgie chastised me( recommending to a guy rebuilding his 454 mag) BC I suggested going to a set of scat or eagle h beams rather than rebuild his Chevy rods. Stating how they simply weren't needed, overkill, and I was wasting peoples money. Now a year later he's using h beam Callie's rod with L19 bolts in his 454 upgrade.

If the engineers in this industry know what they are talking about then why in the world are there so many part figment issues. Sometimes you have to re-engineer everything to get the stuff to fit right and work. Not really referring to Callie's although I did have almost a grand in heavy metal balancing there crank and rods.
That being said; what was your bobweight total and which crank and stroke did you buy. Sometimes even with a 4.500 stroke crank it requires 1 piece or tungsten in each end. A 4.250 crank and a Compstar 6.385 and a piston of 600 grams requires 1 piece of tungsten in the front counterweight . Using a 1 piece rear seal crank changes amount of tungsten in the end. Some of these cranks only require drilling.

Speaking of stock rods; 7/16 rods in a 509 NA making 630 HP at 5800 rpms. These rods had new ARP bolts installed, caps cut and resized on my equipment. Rods were matched balanced and the rotating assembly balanced, the twins went into a 42' Sonic.

I`m an HVAC guy. This means I know nothing about motors.
If I was a fireman like Borgie, I would understand motors.
I was wrong about the L-19 bolts, they are great for a 600 hp motor and marine application where moisture isn`t an issue.
My wife is ugly and I only post unattainable women in my avatar.
Now that we have that cleared up, I only have a few pictures of this little hottie I got with in Arizona, she was tired of her boyfriend with a little pecker always trying to tell her how smart he was or something.. I wasn`t listening.

I'm speaking of engine hard parts, not some of the marine rigging components, that don't quite fit properly. I hope the grand$$$$ was between 2 rotating assemblies. If that; kind of money was spent, even with heavier pistons and .200 + wall wrist pins it's a little on the high side. I have found it's cheaper to have Callies, balance the rotating in the long run, versus, doing it myself
