It would appear he ground the chit out of the counter balancer's trying to get clearance so it needs more than cut . Needs re-balanced imo .

i don,t think the rods were the problem,lol.i think the problem was a bad builder with mis matched parts.

Exactly. The rods did not fail the bearing did and spin because of chitty work

It is a shame to see this type of work being done by a so called engine shop, but I believe this happens more than we know not only in the marine arena, but automotive as well. I can't see how these places continue to stay viable. Hard to believe!
