does this challenge traditional thinking about the bang for the buck method of growing hp?
Forced induction versus NA heads, cam intake?
Seems like the value may be better with a whipple?

BTW what octane was the motor running?

O2 sensors in the tails, or on each runner of the dyno header.

BP 93 for fuel.

Cole, I think I read 11/2 to 2 inches. Yes very tight if yours is set up like mine.

One things for sure. You ain't gonna see 800+ft lbs out of a N/A pump gas 509 at 3000rpm. I don't care how small of oval ports you use lol

Impressive #'s for sure. Is the 2000RPM gap between peak TQ and HP normal? That seems like a lot.

I've never seen it with a roots blower. Maybe Eddie young will chime in I know he's done plenty of builds with these small Whipple's

Sounds like it needs more carb. The motor started to swallow the boost by the end of the pull.

Rookie,

We see 1800-2200 quite often on the forced applications.

the carb and spark arrestor are both to small,i mentioned it earlier in the thread.the boost was going away because the 2.3 is really to small for this size engine.

it has been my experiance that the screw blowers start making the torque at a pretty low rpm.
