It's - that post - a good reminder, that all exhaust ports must be checked with anyone's headersmanifolds that the port / header opening's match. I've run into these issues with standard stuff. 23* SBC even.
This is the way I've used to check both. Works pretty slick and a little more accurate than using a gasket to check.

(As cast) 1.720"w x 1.680"h, (F/P) 2.100"w x 1.800"h
Exh Port Location:
Raised .900" Std chevy bolt pattern
Exhaust Gasket:
