As a former Kaama employee, these motors appear to be Kaama 400's with Gill exhaust. The Dooley oil pans were only used on the 425"s.

it is altogether possible the kaama drives got sold off then the engines got sold to this boat owner or prev owner then the hull done away with. but a 454 mag is rated 365 at the prop. which comes out to 400-410 or so at the flywheel. so the differences are very slight. if these engines have been rebuilt, no telling what they have for cams-pistons now. if they haven't, no telling how many hours they have...or how many hours they have left. which is essentially the same as if they were the orig motors in this sonic. there is a reason a lot of guys here won't buy a boat with power in it. or do immediate tear-down and refresh if they do.

Here is other pic of the valve cover. I think this is a 450 not a 400. The actual owner of the boat told me he run 70 Mph GPS and to run this speed in a big 1991 sonic 31ss, I think this hull need at least 425hp each side.

From a dyed in the wool Kaama guy, that's just too cool!
